Sant Cugat will be, for the third consecutive year, the setting for the International Children’s Fencing Trophy “Sant Jordi” for under-15s. This prestigious tournament was created in Barcelona thirteen years ago by the Catalan Fencing Federation (FCE) to promote children’s fencing and give young Catalan fencers the opportunity to start competing in international competitions close to home. Since 2023, Sant Cugat has been the venue for the tournament and the Sant Cugat Fencing Club is responsible for the organisation, with the support of the FCE and the Sant Cugat City Council, which provides the La Guinardera pavilion, an ideal venue highly rated by the participants. The tournament consists of six competitions: men’s foil, women’s foil, men’s sabre, women’s sabre, men’s épée and women’s épée. The foil and sabre competitions will be held on Saturday 29th, and the epee competitions will be held on Sunday 30th. All six competitions are part of the Spanish circuit for under-15s, along with the tournaments in Madrid and Ciudad Real, which have already been held previously. The number of participants in this edition exceeds its historical maximum with 355 participants from 7 countries.

The Sant Cugat Fencing Club, in addition to the organization, will provide male and female participants in the foil specialty, which will be held on Saturday 29th from 9 am. The participation of athletes from the club will be the highest of all the editions held, with eight male representatives and seven female representatives. Public entry is free and complete information about the tournament can be found at https://trofeusantjordi.com.
